The Troth
We in the Troth practice the Germanic/Norse religion of Heathenry, commonly referred to as Asatru. We realize that there are many variations, names, and practices in Germanic Heathenry, including Theodism, Irminism, Odinism, and Anglo-Saxon Heathenry. What we all share is a defining personal loyalty to, or Troth with, the Gods and Goddesses of the Northlands. Our Gods are of two tribes: the Ęsir, and the Vanir. These Gods are: Odin, Thor, Frigga, Frey, Freya, Tyr, Idunna, and many others. We are deeply proud of our Norse/Germanic religious, cultural, and historical heritage. We welcome all, whatever their religious background, who have heard the call of our Gods, and would like to know more about Germanic/Norse Heathenry. Frigga is known as the Spinner. The stars known as Orion's belt are sometimes called Frigga's spindle or Frigga's distaff. She is said to "spin the battle from afar". As one who helps your family and community, knowing how to spin the battle from afar could really come in handy. I have found in Frigga and the Handmaidens associated with her, ready Teachers who show many ways to enhance the lives of those I hold dear. Think of this group as a learning co-op, dedicated to understanding more about Frigga and the Handmaidens associated with her: Syn, Fulla, Gna, Var, Lofn, Eir, Sjofn, Hlin, Saga, Gefjon, Snotra and Vor. We are about: Goddess, Magic, Hearth, Home, Family, Lore, Nature Spirits, Earth, Folk Remedies, Kitchen Witchery, and Runes.
